This workshop is created and presented by Erin Helland of HardHat Diplomat. Erin is a board-certified national home inspector and commercial and residential RENOVATION COACH. Erin has rehabbed multiple properties, created long-term and vacation rentals, and coached property owners across the United States through remodeling projects from simple room makeovers to multi-million dollar endeavors. She loves to share her organizational tools and experience to help others – especially women – become their own project managers and feel confident in making informed and cost-effective decisions when buying and renovating a home.
We will be joined by guest presenter and workshop sponsor Denny Cruz, a licensed and insured GENERAL CONTRACTOR serving the DC & MD. His boutique construction company, AGC Custom Builders, specializes in major additions, whole house renovations, and challenging design-build projects. Denny cares about the homeowners and remodeling projects he takes on and is committed to project quality and homeowner satisfaction.
Many thanks to our venue sponsor, the National Union Building, who will also give us a brief tour of the 27,000 sq ft brownstone during our day together! The National Union Building is a historic building constructed in 1890 offering elegant, private event and entertainment spaces in downtown Washington, DC, at the center of the lively neighborhood of Chinatown/Penn Quarter.
A Workshop to Educate Women About Home Renovation
Single women purchase homes at twice the rate of single men. Yet, many pass on great purchase opportunities because they are intimidated by the renovation process or do not know where to begin. Their anxieties range from worries about being a victim of the “pink tax” to how to live in a construction zone.
Created in response to a clear need for supportive resources that demystify the renovation process, HardHat Diplomat designed “Renovators 101” to help those who feel particularly overwhelmed or vulnerable about engaging in remodeling activities.
While inspired by the challenges faced by women in the renovation space, “Renovators 101” welcomes all genders and is for all individuals who want to gain a better understanding of home improvement and construction project management.
Get prepared to make informed and cost-effective decisions when buying, renovating, and maintaining your home!
