Course Origin

This course is a product of a personal journey, transformed into a welcoming and empowering space for all. I’ve experienced the intimidation of home maintenance and repairs, but I also recognized I had handy capabilities. I just wanted something more than online tutorials; I craved guidance and a friendly mentor.

I understand that many of you have the potential to handle basic maintenance, yet you seek a helping hand as you dive into it. That’s why I designed this course. It’s a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment that encourages questions and embraces the idea that mistakes are part of the learning process

Get Ready

There is limited street parking and a parking lot behind the building. Please enter through the front of the building using the IDA NRV front door. There will be signs to guide you to our room.

There will be a half-hour break for lunch. We encourage you to bring a brown bag to stay and hang out. There are some fast food options within a short drive.

Bring a pen and paper to take notes. Dress comfortably as this is a long day class. Come ready to share and learn together!
